New York City is such an amazing city you can spend days, in-fact months there and still not manage to see everything! There is so much to do and see.
Once checked into our hotel (the 'Intercontinental Barclay') we dumped our luggage and headed straight out into the city. Our first port of call was Planet Hollywood were we were buying our New York Passes which gives you access to most of the tourist attractions.
The following day we were up bright and early and off to the Empire State building. I have been to New York before so this was my second time and I can say that I was still just as amazed by the views from the observatory deck of the Empire State Building as I was the first time. It is a breath taking view and I could spend hours up there just walking round and admiring the views. Here are some of the pictures I took from the top of the Empire...
(You can see the Flat Iron Building in the centre of the photo above)
(In the photo above you can see a view of Macys from the top of the Empire)
The following photo is my favourite out of all of the shots I took up there though because it is shows the Chrysler building in a brilliant shot and it is my favourite building in New York...
We visited many other attractions throughout the trip; Top of the Rock, Central Park, Columbus Circle, Statue of Liberty, Madame Tussauds, Times Square, Washington Square Arch, Flat Iron Building, Ground Zero, Grand Central and many of the museums but I want bore you too much by going into loads of detail about each one. Here is a photo's showing these wonderful places instead...
(Marilyn Monroe Waxwork)
(Elvis Presley Waxwork)
(Lady Gaga Waxwork)
(View of the Empire State building at night from Top of the Rock)
(Me playing about with my shutter speed which worked out quite well I think)
(Times Square lit up at night)
(The Flat Iron building or as I like to call it the 'cheesecake' building because it looks like a slice of cheesecake)
(The Statue of Liberty)
(The Washington Square Arch)
(Inside Grand Central Terminal)
(The Guggenheim)
After all of the sight seeing all that was left to do was SHOP!! :) and where better to do it than New York City?!? With the likes of fifth avenue just a few blocks from where we were staying how could I possibly resist.
I visited Macys, Victoria secrets, Century 21, H&M, Topshop, and loads more :)
I bought my bargains from these two stores though...
Sephora is the place to be if you have a love for make-up, it has every brand you could possibly think of and love; Benefit, Nars, Bobbi Brown etc but at a cheaper price. I found myself leaving with lots of newly purchased Benefit make-up I could of come home with a suitcase full!
Forever 21 is like America's answer to our Primark... only better!
It is amazing and there is hundreds of bargains found upon many floors. You could honestly spend a whole day just in there routing around for fab bargains. If you ever come across a Forever 21 store get yourself in there! You will not regret it if you're a bargain lover or tend to shop in Primark.
Over all our visit to New York was brilliant and I would go back within a heartbeat if given the opportunity. I LOVE fashion and there is just so much opportunity there... maybe one day! :)
